Purpose

Today's teacher has the opportunity to use the Internet not only as a resource for an enormous amount of material and new ideas, but also as a tool to excite and challenge students to learn, think and apply mathematics so that they will be better equipped to be successful in the 21st Century. Although mathematics teachers have access to endless resources on the Internet, the reality is that there is unfortunately too much information and too little time for the teacher to explore that information given the demands of the classroom and class preparation requirements.

This site is designed to help mathematics teachers locate current and relevant topics to be effectively included in their lessons. Through the use of this site teachers can quickly determine some of the most effective as well as innovative methods and activities that are being used by their contemporaries. This site also enables teachers to direct students to other relevant sites that offer help for certain topics and to complementary sites which encourage students to value math for its beauty and patterns as well as for its value in solving authentic, real world problems.
