CODE: Caps and gowns are required at
Baccalaureate and Graduation. These
caps and gowns must have been purchased this year. Women, pin the collar on your gown before you
leave home. Put your cap on well forward
with the short point almost between your eyebrows. The cap is worn flat on top of your head and
not tilted to the back or the side. Wear
your tassel over your left eye. Wear
appropriate clothing under your gown.
Women are to wear dresses and flat dress shoes. Men are to wear dress shoes, trousers, solid
color shirt (preferably white), and tie. Students who are not properly
attired will NOT be allowed to participate in the ceremony. Women, leave your purses at home or with
your parents or friends. We cannot
be responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
Baccalaureate and Graduation exercises are to be dignified and formal.
DISCIPLINE
PROBLEMS - Any long-term suspensions will mean no participation in Senior
Activities, i.e, Prom, or Graduation exercises.
RETURN
ALL BOOKS. Textbooks must be returned
and library debts, class fees, and textbook fees paid before graduation. If not, students will not be allowed to go
through the Graduation ceremony.
Baccalaureate
service for our seniors will take
place at First Baptist Church Concord. Attendance is strictly voluntary. However, students must attend practice if
they are planning to participate in the exercises. Men are to bring their caps to practice.
(Men remove their caps simultaneously when a prayer is offered, replacing them
at the close of the prayer. Women do not
remove their caps at any time.)
Be
in the procession for graduation at 6:30 p.m. at the Thompson
Boling Arena. Look for your advisory
period teacher for instructions on how to line up.
The procession will start on time with or without you.
Graduation
from high school is a milestone in the life of a student and family. The dignity of the occasion can best be
observed by requesting that your friends refrain from whistling or applauding
for any one
student. Your congratulations can best
be shown by applause for the total group after the last graduate has walked
across the stage.
