Mission Statement of Farragut High School 

Farragut High School is dedicated to providing an environment which will enable students to develop and to continue the lifelong academic, cultural, and physical aspects of learning in order to foster visionary, progressive individuals who strive toward excellence with a sense of global and technological awareness and who will go forth to serve the community and world as responsible citizens.

Appeal for Community Support

The Knox County Board of Education has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to providing quality education for our students, but in these days of increased financial pressures on our already overstressed budget we need to find new ways of funding the necessary innovative programs and state-of-the-art technology to keep FHS students on the cutting edge of times.

While FHS has had a long tradition of academic achievement, the demands on its resources are greater than ever. With our ever-rising number of students at Farragut High School, we need your assistance to continue its tradition of academic excellence. To this end, the Farragut High School Education Foundation has been established to facilitate community involvement in raising funds for the integration of technology in all areas of curriculum, and to help provide for the general needs of FHS that may not be met by public funding.

Farragut High School Education Foundation

The Farragut High School Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization directed by a Board of community leaders and concerned parents, advised by school administrators and faculty members, functioning as a liaison between the community and FHS. The Foundation's purpose is to help raise funds to support cutting-edge programs and resources to ensure FHS students reach their greatest potential.

Goals for Foundation

• To facilitate community support fo funding education excellence
• To make possible cutting-edge and innovative programs for all FHS students
• To ensure all Farragut students have the neccessary opportunities to achieve their greatest potential
• To integrate technology and academic excellence into all areas of curriculum
• To provide continuous support for the above goals through annual fundraising efforts

Our Plans

Farragut High School wants to provide a safe and comfortable leanring environment with sufficient equipment and resources to maximize the benefit of our students' education opportunities. In order to help achieve this goal the Foundation has set both short and long-term goals, which will include but will not be limited to the following:

Short-term Goals

• Establish technology labs in all academic and technical areas
• Equip classrooms with innovative and interactive technology such as "SmartBoards"
• Supply state-of-the-art technology for the library's media information system, guidance programs and academic departments
• Provide technological facilities and services as needed including online instructions, training, and new network capabilities
• Meeting departmental requests for equipment, supplies, furniture, and other needs not met by the other sources

Long-term Goals

• Establish a Digital Video Conference Center for use in long distance learning as well as community resources for business and individuals
• Update the Library's collection of books and reference materials to keep in line with the Wilson's Standards for Libraries
• Investigate the use of curriculum delivery programs and equipment for remediation, makeup and alternative schooling
• Install secure wireless networks for special areas
